I decided to update some of my horses as I'm intending to have them participate more during ESRPG events; I hadn't seen a lot of them in Luke's 4k coat mod until recently and once I photographed one I just had to do them all! First up are my small team of off-track Thoroughbreds. These are entirely unedited apart from sizing them down obvs!
Criminal Class (aka Classy)
Thoroughbred, bay gelding | Residence: Redmayne
Classy is an Irish bred Thoroughbred who until recently competed as a steeplechaser. He experienced minor success, placing a few times during his career, racking up some decent prize money for his owners. A personal favourite at his barn they sought Jamie to retrain him with a view to sell as a competition or pleasure horse. Although not all that special in the looks department he's proven to be particularly brave and is displaying an incredible attitude towards his new routine.
Geeze Louise (aka Lou)
Thoroughbred, liver chestnut mare | Residence: Redmayne
Lou is another Irish bred Thoroughbred with a previous career in steeplechasing, but she left the track some time before Classy and received a bit of 'retraining' as a hunt horse from her owner before coming to Redmayne. She's quiet and well-mannered on the ground but is hard-mouthed and tends to ignore aids when under saddle; the scar on her shoulder came from a run-in with a barbed wire fence but the injury did not affect any long-term damage and is purely superficial. It looks like she might take a bit longer to bring on but should eventually make someone very happy.
Search and Destroy (aka Dexter)
Thoroughbred, chestnut gelding | Residence: Bridlebourne
Dexter had a very successful career as a racehorse on the flat and his owners wanted to give him every chance of going on to a loving home following his retirement from the track, so through a friend-of-a-friend they found Peter who's happily taken the gelding on for his re-education. Dex hasn't let fame go to his head and he's a fairly mellow character, a happy hacker on his own or in company, but can still have moments of silliness particularly when faced with the bins in the driveway.
