((Running a little late on pictures my bad!))
When Sweetie first arrived you could tell she was shy and worried about her new location. Bailey had a lot to already deal with so she passed the new mare on to Trevor who absolutely adored her! After unloading her into the round pen Trevor brought out some nice fresh hay and a big tub of water, hopefully that will hold her over for the night. Sweetie was really shy and stayed back as far as she could from Trevor distrusting the new human.
Trevor has been coming out everyday spending hours with the new mare. Each day it's the same thing, fresh hay, clean water, maybe sneak a few treats into the bucket. Trevor was trying to pamper the mare as much as he could, he must have been doing a good job. Sweetie started getting closer to Trevor day by day she would inch a bit closer. Today however took Trevor by surprise! Sweetie had stayed by the gate the whole time he was bringing out the food and water, normally she would move to the other side of the pen but today she stayed!
Trevor has been slowly introducing Sweetie to her new tack and new area's, leaving the round pen open for her to explore the new arena and connecting pasture. We haven't tried to bring her into the barn yet on count of how shy she still is. Although she's opened up to Trevor when Wyatt and Bailey stopped in to check on the progress the mare trotted away and hid in the back of the arena, guess she needs some social work! Bringing in other horses is fine, she doesn't seem to mind the others.
Sweetie seems to like all the staff now! Anyone can walk up to her and pet her, however she is still not to sure about riding, Trevor is able to tack her up, free lunge her in the round pen, and even walk her around the farm. She's not a big fan of riding yet so we are taking it easy on her.
Trevor has really falling in love with this mare, devoting all his free time to her. He looks good on her to! She's gotten used to riding and running really simple courses but she still needs some work! Trevor likes to spend a lot of time working with her day in and day out. She now has this gorgeous trot and smooth as silk lope. She's spent some time in the barn as well but she's not very fond of the creepy noises at night.
