This is such a cute idea; it's like cracking the family photo album and seeing how things have changed over the years... and it's nice to learn a little more about other members (even if it's just to know they're a little bit creepy) (not looking at you @irishammel ... )
When did you join Equus-Sims?
I had an account on the original forum (2012?) but I don't know why as I never used it; I was too reserved and awkward to talk to anyone and too happy in my own bubble to venture out, anyway. I joined forum 2.0 in December 2013; started actually posting mid 2014. Three years later, I am still reserved and awkward, but am slightly more active.
What made you want to join Equus-Sims?
Hmm. I don't know what made me want to join... just that telling stories made me want to stay.
Who inspires you the most and why? (Can be any member, dating from back when you started til now)
The people I personally find most inspiring are the ones who offer a kind word here or there, or are encouraging in some way, because they inspire me to keep telling these silly little stories which play out in my head instead of keeping quiet or giving it up. Those people inspire me. But, mm, if you want me to name names...
Merida and Luna, in many ways, but mostly for the way they've established these iconic stables out of their own... passion (?) (ie.Sweden and Finland) and made them distinctly their own. Also their commitment to showcasing the "commonplace" moments in life... and somehow making them enthralling.
Eowyn, for making me feel like it's possible to post unedited photos which are actually nice. I don't pretend to even come close to her effortless style, but she inspires me all the same.
Christina, for continually throwing the spotlight on storytelling and creativity and encouraging everyone to make stories in their games and not take everything so seriously. I can't adequately put words together to describe how important this is to me. I think, also, for her positivity and energy. It's a breath of fresh air.
and, finally, the long-suffering, ever-lovely Chelsea, for listening to me whine about writer problems
and just all problems and being lovely about it, even though she really should be telling me to buck up and deal with it. On countless occasions she's flipped my mindset from why do I do anything to I'm going to work on that thing RIGHT NOW, and if that doesn't qualify as inspiring, I don't know what else would.
What is your favorite memory or experience with Equus-Sims?
That's a good question. Something that stands out would be, when I first started publishing my story, getting a handful of private messages from people encouraging me to keep writing. They were only a few sentences but to a shy, weedy writer nerd like myself- who didn't know anyone and had some mad mix of Jonah Complex/Impostor Syndrome/Obsessive perfectionism- it was huge deal and it really.. emboldened me to keep going, and I hope those people remember who they are because I'm pretty much going to love you forever because of it.
*Oh, editing to add: I think, every time someone talks to me about my stable like it's a place they've been, or my characters as though they were mutual friends, that really gets me. To make something you've created as alive for someone else as it is for you is a special feeling.
If you could only have one piece/set of equestrian custom content, what would it be?
If I could only have one piece of equestrian CC, it wouldn't matter what it was, because I wouldn't be able to play my game without everything else. I need at least 10GB of CC in my mods folder to feel okay with life. At least.
What is one photo you remember being the most beautiful/impactful/inspirational to you (by another member)?
While I can't pinpoint any singular photo, the first thing that springs to mind is/are Christina's photos from Rosenthal. They inspired me hugely when I was lurking- I loved that someone made stable interior and design photos?!?!!11; they were sophisticated yet cosy, and there was a real sense of place and story in them, which is something that always appeals to me. I guess they kind of gave me the push, like... okay, this is the standard; I want my place to be as alive and timeless as this.

If you could steal any one horse owned by another member, which one would it be?
Aw man, just one horse?? That's a tough one. I love Tasha [White]'s ponies. I also have a thing for Zahid [Sadir]'s Arabians and Elin [Fredriksdotter]'s warmbloods, and I've never seen an HF or AT horse I didn't like.
Talking specifics... I always loved D-D Coryphée, an American Saddlebred owned by Kayleigh Booker, who I cannot for the life of me find any pictures of anywhere and Moret Cuatro, a PRE owned by Che Marshall.
.. Not that I would bother stealing either, because I can't draw manes or tails.

Who is your biggest character crush?
Hm. To be honest, I feel I don't know enough characters- or enough characters well enough- to have a crush. I have, however, always had a friendly fondness for Hesterfield's Sofie Boje, and recently, Sara Parkatti. I think Ryan O'Neil is one of the coolest characters around and that Christian Hein is cute as a puppy dog; that every single character in the Kinnvara 'pawns' thread is one I want to read more about, and... that Juha of Ratsumaki is stylin'
Of my own characters? Psssh like I am going to answer that. Besides, I don't play favourites!
I have a soft spot for Archie he's just so nice
Who is your biggest member crush?
Hah! That is a trap I am not about to walk into. I will say, though, that I tend to 'crush' on nice people rather than people with nice things, and leave it at that. C:
What horse of your own do you love best?
Poquelin, unequivocally. In part because he was the first horse I made/acquired, and in part because when I made him, I was still more of an 'observer' than a participator in the community, and to me it looked like ES was full of champion warmbloods who did everything they were asked without question and all performed at top level and made everyone swoon and butter wouldn't melt in their mouths, yada yada yah. It's different now, but that's how it seemed at the time, and I- misfit that I am- loved the idea of saying to convention and having a horse who wasn't perfect, who had 'moments' as all horses do- even the multi-million dollar ones- and whose rider sometimes came home with a bruised ego (and occasionally, a bruised body) in place of blue ribbons. He's got a bit of spunk, in short. I like that.
Of the horses you have made, which one are you most proud of?
Probably Speakeasy; I don't make horses
ever often- because I'm not particularly good at it- but I actually liked the way he turned out. People seem to really notice him when he appears in my pictures, so... that's nice.
Which edited photo of your own do you feel most proud of?
There isn't one. I don't usually edit my pictures, not really. I'm both tremendously bad at it and tremendously bored with it so I leave it alone. I also don't often feel "proud" of my photos. Perhaps a little at first, but the pride is limited and fleeting and usually turns into something like... dissatisfied acceptance. #perfectionistrealities
.. but, uh, I guess… I tend to like most sim portraits I do
because I don't do much to them and most of the Quarterly/Magazine features I did, I liked...
I don't know? The editing is minimal, but I like this one of Agatha??
What is the oldest running bloodline in your current arsenal of horses?
I have a dressage horse whose lines trace back to MSE Shakhid (#33) and a show jumper who goes back to SSE Cruise Control (#21). I do also have horses going back to Howler HF and Tanns Dancing Queen, as well as some older RDEC and 'du Tussock' horses... and there's a lease horse with WEC lines and Call Me Casanova in her lineage, but, ah, whether she's technically part of my "current arsenal" is subject to opinion.
Which of the oldest stable names do you recognize or remember the most?
Lawrence Equestrian Center is definitely the oldest I can remember. Other places... Breckenridge, Elevage du Tussock, Morning Star Equestrian, Broudein, Rohan EC (), Rowanwood, Soda Springs Eq., Lakeside... we could go on.
If you could move into any stable by another member, which one would it be?
Hmm, tricky question, because different motivations. I'll say…
Hesterfield (Merida), for the talent (and the lifestyle)
Atlantic Stud (Eowyn), for the horses,
Bridlebourne (Jennifer/Petra), for the aesthetic (because, though I haven't seen much yet, Petra is historically good at decorating and I'm willing to take the gamble), and
Ratsumaki (Luna), for the company... and the pancakes.

Of the stables you've built, which one is your favorite?
The only one I've really built for myself is Lowmax, and I guess that in itself proves it's my favourite because I've never felt the need to start afresh or build something else. I think.. that's because it's a blend of things I love, or things I know. And the way it is so inconsistent, the way it is composed of contradictions- bold and subtle, classic and modern, city and country, perfection and imperfection-... to steal what Christina said: it's very me.
What was the first competition you entered on Equus-Sims?
After digging through my imgur account, I'm 92% sure it was this one, the unedited class over tiny fences at the 'Lucky Palms Fall(s?)' or something like that, with Agatha and Poquelin. Disclaimer: I will not be held responsible for eye bleed
Of the competitions you've entered, which of your entries was your most favorite?
Mm; don't really have a 'most favourite'; I dislike them all equally.
... okay, after answering more questions and pondering this, I decided to pick this one- Yury & Tessa at the Hesterfield Young Horse Championships- even though the mistakes in it make me laugh and cringe. ( @merida may remember what I'm talking about...)
What is the best prize/reward you've ever won on Equus-Sims?
Prizes or rewards. I'd have to say... the time Carmen Raymond "raffled" off a foal crop. Write down why I want the horse and what I'm going to do with it, and I could win it? That's it?? ... I can do that. This was at the time when RDEC horses were hot property, 'pedigree bonus' was surfacing as a thing, and I had two [crudely made] horses to my name. I applied for Gotica and was fortunate enough to win her. Two years later, I still have her, and I still adore her.

What is your oldest memory of Equus-Sims?
Downloading recolours of the TS2 horse model.Unless I am thinking of somewhere else. In which case, that's not my oldest memory, and this is super awkward.
Phew! Did it. Would love to read some more of these answers.... * nose tap nudge wink *
