Hi there! I think when it comes to nicely un-edited pictures, a lot (pretty much all of it) is in your computer specs and your lighting mod. I have a mac pro which hates sims 3, but I run my settings on high anyway. Can you max out your settings on your computer? You can find a lot of good lighting mods from brntwaffles, I personally prefer St Claire because it gives very natural colours. When it comes to pixels, the more tack you slap on that pony of yours, the more pixels you're gonna get. So if your computer can't handle a lot of tack without getting pixelated, then consider removing martingales and ear nets and the likes. And one last but very important thing; framing. A high quality image is nothing without a good framing. It's best to use tab-mode when you take pictures, that way you can alternate better between camera angles. Hope this helped, here's a few pictures straight from my screenshot folder.
