PHOENIX HILL || SS YOURS TRULY UPDATE
I think a Tully update is way overdue. I haven't updated her much since I've been meaning to edit her coat so that I can register her over on EC. She needs to be lighter on her flanks, belly and muzzle to be registered but I haven't gotten round to it. Basically I suck haha.
Effie picked up the reins and clicked her tongue, Tully sprung up into a canter and pulled gently against the reins, she was a sensitive mare and found Effie's style of riding comforting since she was a quiet, relaxed rider. The mare mouthed on the bit, still young and unsure of the piece of metal in her mouth, but Effie helped reassure her. Effie knew a mare like Tully was a hard sort to find, she had so much so give and such a sweet attitude and a forgiving personality. She was unlike most mares Effie knew and she already adored her. Tully needed a routine. Effie woke at the crack of dawn, around four, usually five in the morning and walked up to the barn and gave Tully her morning carrot. The mare found it insulting if she wasn't given her morning carrot. She'd always tie the mare up and groom her for a long while, making sure she was gleaming and settled and ready for turnout. She used to be turned out in a field with one of Phoenix Hill's other horses, Blackstone's Nikora, but she was now moved into another field with PHF Poppy Fox. Effie had weighed it up, she knew their personalities would match, and she wasn't surprised when she found the two grazing side by side every evening when she finished her evening checks.
Effie was proud of Tully's progress, they progressed fairly quickly, but Effie made sure it was only ever at Tully's pace. She sat tall in the saddle and nudged Tully's sides before lining her up towards the grid and letting her find her own way through. The mare found it easy since she was a natural. "Good girl," Effie soothed, patting the mare's neck as they cantered off across the other side of the arena.
