New guy at the stable, everyone please give a warm welcome to my new Hanoverian stallion, Scolari. I'm so in love with this big guy, all 17 hands of him! He's a little bit of a psycho, crazy forward(that's a nice way of putting it ), but I was in need of a jumper and I'm always up for a challenge. The way I look at it, the more "bad" rides we have, the more we both learn and grow as a team. So yeah, while trialing him, I ended up brushing wet sand off my ass most of the time, wasn't too thrilled about all that. The more I worked with him though, and the more good rides we had, I really started to like him and the way he worked. For the most part, he was pretty responsive to my seat and leg which of course plays a very important role in riding. When we made it over fences, he felt very smooth, no matter the distance. He is the type of horse to see the perfect distance, but try to, let's say...speed things up a bit. Which means turning 4 steps into 2. He definitely has a lot of confidence, but that all crumbles if he knocks a pole down or chips at fences....any kind of mistakes seem to really upset him, whether it's my fault or his. When he gets upset, he throws a huge fit. Bucking, throwing his head up, refusing and all that craziness, I'm guessing he's not a very good problem solver lol. I forget sometimes that he's only 7, and looks at me for direction. It might take some time for him to gather some impulse control, along with thinking ahead on course, but I'm determined to bring out his full potential. (A big thank you to @annieyaga for this amazing horse, I'm so impressed with his coat and the way he turned out )
As far as the stable is going, everything is coming into place! I've already moved all the horses to the new facilities and everyone has a set schedule that they have been following for a week now. I was a bit concerned about how maurelle would settle at the new place, she has a few anxiety issues, but so far so good. In fact, things are so good, that I'm planning on taking Tazzy and Scolari to the upcoming show at Bay Side. I'm pretty confident that Tazzy will be the best behaved, although I'm not sure I can say the same for the beast himself, Scolari.
So now you've heard all about the nut case, time to match an image with his little description
also ignore the fact that the shadow didn't show up in this pic, it's cute so i had to post it anyway xD
